Need a Power Supply for a ASUS GTX560 Direct CU video card.?

So under the guidance of a friend I am building a new computer myself and I have ordered a ASUS GTX560 Direct CU video card. The things a bit of a beast and I found I need a new power supply for it to work.



I need something that will give about 550 to 600 W and must be compatible with the card (i.e. the card has axillary power inputs so I guess I need a power supply that can deliver).



My first time building a comp so any suggestions on what power supply to get? Also, how do I tell what is going to be compatible with it?|||get this if you can afford it,it is also good if you want to sli tha 560 which you should later.

What graphics card is better than 2x gtx460?

I have 2 gtx460 running in sli. My buddy wants to build a PC and I was wondering if I got something like the gtx560 ti oc, would that be faster or what would be faster without running sli or crossfire?|||Use NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2- dual GPU-based graphic card.|||one of the higher factory clocked gtx 580's such as msi's 3gb lightning extreme might do the trick, or if you don't mind dual gpu cards, then possibly a gtx 590 or 6990.|||My understanding from some of research (I'm building a comp myself) is that the nvidia GeForce 560 is pretty darn good. Buy it!|||A 560Ti isn't much better than a 460, so 2x460s would be faster. However, something like a 570 would be a better option, as a single GPU is easier to setup, and performs more reliably. Plus, you can Crossfire later if you need to.

Is a gtx560 ti a good upgrade from a gtx 275 video card?

my gaming pc is starting to get slower for games, its not that slow but i would like to be able to play new games on my pc, is the tx560 ti card much better than the 275, is it worth th eupgrade or should i wait for newer cards to come out before i upgrade my parts, my video card is 2 and a half years old btw|||Hell yeah gtx 560 is a hell of a card u know nvidea models who have x marks gt X are made for extreme gaming and u will run ultra high graphics even in 3d mode with this card :D

that's it.|||It does depend on what game you play. Games like Crysis 2 which is demanding on the graphics card and not so much on the CPU will not be bottlenecked. Games like GTA4 or Flight Sim X which are very demanding on the CPU will not stress the video card much because the CPU will struggle to get through the work if it's on highest settings.



To check whether you have a bottleneck you could run a benchmark test, record how many points you get and then compare your results with other people who have the same graphics card but a newer cpu and ram.



Another way to check if you have a (significant) bottleneck is to run a demanding game on the highest settings and record the frames per second. Then drop the graphics settings and keep the rest of the settings at the highest.

If when you drop the graphics settings your frame rate stays the same or similar then you have no noticeable bottleneck.

Which graphic card: Zotac GTX560 or ASUS GTX560?

I am planning to buy a graphic card... I have shortlisted these two:

1. Zotac GTX560 AMP! Edition (OC to 950MHz) (http://www.zotac.com/index.php?page=shop… )

2. ASUS GTX560 (OC to 925MHz) ( http://in.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA… )

WHich one out of these should I go for? Or should I go for a completely different one? MY budget is INR 14K. ALso mainly I want this for heavy video rendering and photo editing basically.. I however plan to do some moderate gaming with the latest titles :)

PS: If you are going to convert INR to your country currency (esp. $ ) when advising some other card, then please keep one thing in mind, the prices get increased by a lot till they come to Indian markets

Cheers|||I would have to say go with the ASUS brand, The ZOTAC gtx 560 AMP edition consumes more power.produces more heat and is a little bit noisy compared to other brands, here is a link about this:

Damage to graphic card (gtx560)?

so I bought a new gtx560 and when I connected it, the computer didnt detect it. it was on, the fan was running but when I installed the drivers it wasnt recognized a gtx card.... the device manager simply stated "standard vga".... so I thought the problem Might be the power supply and it turns out one of the 12v rails wasnt working... it probably stopped with my old card which didnt require much power anyway.



so im going to get a new psu, but do you think connecting it for the first time without the sufficient power could have damaged it even though the card wasn't technically in use?|||No it should not have caused any damage to it. Touching it without grounding your self first to remove the elctro static discharge could have damaged it. However very unlikely i think you will be fine.
